Emergency Roofing Contractors Respond To Aftermath Of Hail And Wind Storm in Augusta, Georgia on May 6, 2022
Commercial Roofing & Restoration
Augusta, Georgia was subjected to a storm that dropped tree branches, full-sized trees, and wind-driven hail throughout the area, on May 6th, Friday afternoon and evening. According to WRDW news, people were blocked in their homes with trees having fallen onto their roofs or in their yards cutting off access. Powerlines and trees were downed all across the area and into South Carolina, across roads, onto homes, damaging roofs. Additional damage was done to cars, and buildings from large hailstones, some as large as golf balls. One person, no stranger to storms, was home alone and frightened at seeing sparks coming from a nearby powerline, then across the street, the neighbor had a transformer on fire, which frightened her and the neighbors even more. This was a part of a more widespread storm that brought havoc to Crossville, TN and other surrounding areas on the same day. Thousands of people were without power and people were stranded in cars due to branches down on roads. Wind-blown hail, trees, and branches are devastating forces against roofs and sidings. RestoreMaster sent a team into the area to assist with assessing damage so that homeowners can have peace of mind, knowing what repairs are needed, as well as having the reliable and expert services of the RestoreMaster contractors.

RestoreMaster would like to remind Augusta, Ga residents that doing inspections and assessments without proper expertise may cause details to be missed. This could decrease the possibility of insurance companies providing the necessary coverage for repairs and restorations. RestoreMaster helps with everything from assessments to final restorations.
Some roofing systems can be severely harmed by damage from heavy winds, tornadoes, or hail.
Older roofs are susceptible to severe wind damage, by winds as low as 50 mph.
The severity of roof damage depends on several factors including: type and age of roofing materials, presence of flying debris, roof shape and angle, building height and proximity to adjacent structures and the quality of original roof installation.
Following severe weather like this, it’s important to get a thorough roof inspection & property damage assessment to determine whether or not you have roof damage from hail or wind.
Circumstances do not always allow for immediate repair of roof leaks. In the meantime, an experienced disaster roofing contractor can cover the roof or affected area with a tarp or with a durable plastic shrink wrap material, until such a time when more permanent repairs can be made. We need to stop more moisture damage, so we can prevent mold growth.
Rather than believing your roof is not damaged, if your property is anywhere in the area of the storm damage map, then you will want to get your roof inspected.
Some storm damage problems do not produce symptoms right away.
And insurance companies can require you to get a claim in before their deadline.
